Small Scale Integration (SSI) refers to the early stage of integrated circuit (IC) technology where a relatively small number of logic gates or transistors (typically fewer than 100) are integrated onto a single chip. These ICs were developed in the 1960s and early 1970s and formed the foundation of early digital electronics.
